Global Micro were setting up a new microchip animal registry from scratch and wanted to integrate a validation tool that would ensure all data entered into their system was valid and up-to-date.
Previously, Cindy Marshall, CEO and owner, had worked with products that only verified addresses. Unsatisfied with this limited offering and well aware of the pitfalls of manual data entry, Cindy knew her business needed a comprehensive and pro-active data validation tool, so she chose Thryv Data's TotalCheck.
Not only does TotalCheck validate name, address, phone number and email, it also stops mistakes entering the system. The user simply types a few letters or numbers into a field and TotalCheck automatically fills in the rest. And if the wrong details are entered, TotalCheck corrects the mistake while pre-populating the fields. “A lot of our customers like that they only need to enter minimal information for all the fields to be filled in. Plus for users with little computer experience, Thryv Data guides them with correct spelling and information”, says Cindy.
Equally successful to the initial user experience is the product itself, with TotalCheck ensuring the information on each microchip is almost always right, allowing pets to get back to their owners as quickly and easily as possible.
The system was installed by Global Micro’s programmer and has run smoothly since with thousands of new registrations and ownership transfers entered each month. It’s also made handwritten registration entry far easier with “Thryv Data's coming in very handy in deciphering the street, suburbs and post codes correctly”, says Cindy.
To ensure data is as correct and up-to-date as possible TotalCheck updates its data sources daily. With councils often changing the areas they service, not to mention the fact that there are up to 50,000 phone number changes in Australia each day, TotalCheck is able to keep Global Micro’s database abreast of these changes, making it very hard for outdated information to enter their system.
